Hard to understand why a Gerdau would spend $4.2 billion for a company, only to run it into the ground. Even if the steel industry wasn't struggling right now, this mill would be fighting to keep it's head above water due to poor management. Gerdau is a Brazilian owned company.
The Project is part of Gerdau’s capital improvement plan to maintain the Midlothian Steel Mill as a competitive steel producer in the global marketplace.
